“Warm welcome ; beautiful cottage, warm and spacious with everything you could wish for. The sun room was wonderful to relax in when we returned from our long walks. Source of the Seven Wilfred Vaughn Thomas Monument , The Old Leadworks and the Nant Y Moch Resevoir and Natyrarian, where there are walks and they feed the red Kites at 3pm every day are all well worth visiting (the information for all the above is in the drawer in the hall). In all an ideal spot to spend a relaxing holiday.‎” – Four old walkers!

 

“What a beautiful cottage, the photos do not do it justice. Could not have asked for a better place to relax and enjoy our first visit to Wales. The warm welcome we received although we arrived early was much appreciated. The cottage was a good base for exploring the area and we couldn’t ask for any better, even the weather was fantastic. I did take a little ribbing from Glynn regarding my pronunciation of the Welsh language but it was all in jest. We visited Aberdyfi which has a beautiful sandy beach and Powys Castle in Welshpool is a must especially if you like gardens. A good buy is the coastal rover ticket as you can use it after 9am .I again must say that the cottage self surpassed my expectations and we will be back .” - Ali‎ Maxell

 

“What a fantastic retreat. We were met by a very warm welcome and even had freshly baked bread, bara brith and milk in the fridge for us when we arrived. The 'cottage' is truly a beautifully spacious barn, refurbished to an extremely high spec which really does meet the description of 'luxurious'. It benefits from lovely warm floors and in the cold, damp February weather felt homely and cosy. The free wi-fi, land line calls and satellite viewing were a bonus and meant that while we could relax in the beautiful surroundings we still fet in touch with the world. We could do as much or as little as we chose and it was great to find guide books and maps of the local area and attractions. We were sad to leave and can't wait to go back!‎” – Andy Ryall

 

“Van 30 april tot 7 mei hebben wij in deze prachtige cottage vakantie gehouden. De vriendelijke ontvangst, de heerlijke cake en de andere kleine welkomsgeschenken gaven ons meteen een heel welkom gevoel. De inrichting is van een erg hoog niveau. Voor ons was erg plezierig dat er een WiFi internet verbinding was. Daarnaast zijn de badkamers (2!) mooi uitgevoerd en voorzien van extra toiletten. Ook in de keuken ontbreekt het aan niets (o.a. afwasmachine/oven/magnetron/gote koel/vrieskast). De banken in de woonkamer zitten zo lekker dat het elke keer weer een vraag is wie er in de keuken even een glaasje wijn wil inschenken. De bedden waren voor ons doen wel wat hard, maar dat kan wellicht ook aan ons liggen of komen doordat ze nieuw zijn. Al met al ademt de cottage een heerlijke harmonieuze sfeer, waarbij het heerlijk is dat het ook wel eens regent in Wales. In de woning is verder alles aanwezig, zodat je niets extra's van huis hoeft mee te nemen; bed/keuken-linnen alsmede handdoeken; er is zelfs een wasmachine/strijkijzer en plank/stofzuiger aanwezig. Ook is er een grote LCD-TV met DVD-speler aanwezig alsmede een aantal bordspellen. In Newtown (15 min. met de auto) kun je bij een 3-tal grote supermarkten (Morrisons/Tesco en Lidl) terecht voor alles wat je nodig hebt aan boodschappen. In de woning zijn een groot aantal brochures en boeken zodat je meer dan voldoende ideeen kunt opdoen voor een onvergetelijk verblijf. Zelf zijn we naar Corris geweest (craftcentre en King Arthur's Labyrinth), Presteigne ( The Judge's Lodging, ook leuk voor kinderen dankzij Nederlandse vertaling van de rondleiding), Elan Vally (overweldigende natuur en museum), Aberystwyth (Vale of Rheidol stoomtrein naar Devil's Brige (de trein stopt er 1 uur, dit is eigenlijk net 20 min. te kort om de wandeling langs de watervallen op je gemak te kunnen doen!) en Lake Vyrnwy. Om op al deze plekken te komen zijn we zoveel mogelijk van de doorgaande wegen afgegeweken; wat je dan aan natuurschoon ziet is in onze ogen geweldig. We hebben nog voldoende op het programma staan om nog eens terug te komen! Aanrader eerste klas! – Martin Boeije
